Thanks to Paul F. Tompkins, any time I see a mention of Cake Boss, Ice-T, Gary Marshall, Andrew Lloyd Weber, or Werner Herzog and it turns out to just be the actual person I’m always disappointed.
By being more entertaining/interesting versions of those people he’s made their existence feel boring and redundant. Which leads me to the conclusion that in a perfect world all people would be Paul F. Tompkins impersonations. A world where we’re all replaced by PFT clones doing a hilarious ongoing bit based on who we were. Utopia.
